Principles of Data Processing

We process personal data only when there is a legal basis for doing so or when you have given us your explicit consent. Data processing follows the principle of good faith, is transparent to the data subject, and is carried out only for specific, defined purposes. We ensure that only the data necessary to fulfil the respective purpose is collected. All collected data is treated confidentially and protected against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or destruction through appropriate technical and organizational security measures.

Collection and Processing of Personal Data

When you visit our website, we collect both data that you actively provide to us and data that is automatically generated through technical processes. If you contact us via our website – for example, by filling out a contact form or subscribing to a newsletter – we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or company affiliation. This information is used exclusively to process your in-quiry, for communication, and to provide the requested information.

In addition to this voluntarily provided data, our web server automatically collects information sent by your browser when visiting our website. This includes the anonymized IP address, browser type, the operating system of your device, the time of access, and the previously visited page (referrer URL). This automatically collected data is used for system security, error diagnosis, and to optimize our web offering. This technical data is not merged with directly identifiable personal information.

Our website uses cookies to collect information about website usage and to provide certain functionalities. We differentiate between technically necessary cookies (required for website operation) and optional cookies (e.g., for statistics, analysis, or marketing purposes).
The legal basis for using technically necessary cookies is our legitimate interest in ensuring the secure and func-tional operation of the website in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR or Art. 31(2)(a) DSG. The processing of per-sonal data through optional cookies occurs only with your explicit consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 31(1) DSG.

Purposes and Legal Basis of Processing

We process personal data exclusively for specific, legitimate purposes. These include, in particular, communica-tion with you upon request, contract fulfilment, information about our services, improvement of our online offer-ings, and ensuring the technical security of our website. When we analyze personal data in the context of operat-ing the website – e.g., through web analysis tools – it is solely to improve user experience and further develop our offering. The legal basis for such processing is your consent, contractual necessity, or – in the case of analyzing user behaviour – our legitimate interest in optimizing our services. Where the GDPR applies, the relevant legal bases are Art. 6(1)(a), (b), or (f) GDPR.

Disclosure of Data to Third Parties

We disclose your personal data to third parties only when legally permitted or required, when you have given explicit consent, or when necessary to fulfil a contractual relationship. For example, we may involve IT service providers, hosting providers, or newsletter services to process data on our behalf. In such cases, we ensure these third parties are contractually bound to comply with strict data protection obligations. We may also share anonymized or aggregated data for statistical analysis that does not allow conclusions to be drawn about specific individuals.

Data Security

We take all necessary and appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, manipulation, loss, or destruction. These measures include access restrictions, encryption during data transmission, and regular staff training in handling personal data. Our internal privacy policies are regularly reviewed and updated to comply with current legal and technological standards.

Use of Matomo Analytics

To improve our website and analyze user behavior, we use Matomo Analytics, an open-source web analytics platform that we operate locally on our own server. Cookies are used in this process, which are stored on your device and allow us to anonymously evaluate the use of our website.

Since Matomo is hosted locally, no data is transmitted to third parties or abroad. Users’ IP addresses are shortened before being stored (IP anonymization), so no direct personal reference can be made. Matomo processes the data exclusively on our behalf and for the purpose of better understanding user behavior and continuously improving our services.

You can object to the analysis of your visit at any time. An opt-out cookie will be set for this purpose, which prevents your data from being collected during future visits to this website.

The data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interests in providing a user-friendly, effective, and secure online service in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. If consent is required, data processing is carried out in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.

Data Transfer Abroad

When using service providers based outside of Switzerland or the EU – for example, for website hosting or news-letter delivery – we ensure compliance with Swiss data protection law and the GDPR. This includes selecting pro-viders based in countries with an adequacy decision or using contractual safeguards such as the European Com-mission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the stated purposes or as required by legal retention periods. Once your data is no longer needed for the stated purposes, it will be deleted or anonymized, unless legal obligations prevent this.

Your Rights

You have the right to request information about the personal data we hold about you at any time. You also have the right to rectify inaccurate data, request deletion or restrict processing, provided that no legal provisions op-pose this. If processing is based on your consent, you may revoke it at any time. You also have the right to object to data processing, particularly when based on a legitimate interest. Where the GDPR applies, you may also have the right to data portability.
To exercise your rights or if you have any questions about data processing, please contact us at: datenschutz@saleon.ch.

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates applicable data protection laws, you may lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or – where applicable – with the competent supervisory authority in the EU.

The version published at the time of your visit applies. We would advise you to review this Privacy Policy on a regular basis.
